Mac Nass & Art Haynes

MAC NASS, Da Heatmizer aka Tha Arsonal, has 33 years  experience in music productions. He started out in the southwest in Oklahoma as a DJ and learned productions techniques while recording a demo with his cousin Lil Buddy Mclain. He produced a song called the “Magic Touch” dedicated to Magic Johnson, in 1991 who had revealed he has HIV while playing in the NBA. Mac Nass moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1993 and lived in his car for two weeks, after getting a chance meeting with Tony M of New Power Generation, Mac Nass was given his first production contract. He was asked to record dj scratches and wrote rap lyrics for Tony M. After a few years in that camp, he did additional work with Flyte Tyme (Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis) with Jeff Taylor (platinum engineer). In 2000 Mac Nass received 3 1/2 mics in The Source Magazine alongside Mannie Fresh and Erik Sermon (Cd that were produced by solo producers). It was said that his work set the bar for all the other material head in that record report session…no one got 4 mics because of Da Heatmizer. That issue had Eminem on the cover.

Mac Nass have worked on projects with Vincent Wilburn Jr. for Actress/Singer Drew Sidora on her first project. He has ghost written with Prince on several songs and remixed Miles Davis material for Vincent Wilburn, Miles’ nephew along with help from his partner Art Haynes,Randy Hall and Zane Giles. The Miles remix is called “Rubberband of Life” featuring Neo-Soul, Grammy nominated singer Ledisi which was released April 2018. In September 2020, the Album that featured the song as the title track, was up for 4 Grammy Nomination Considerations

Mac Nass has a house remix he produced for The Chi-Lites called “My First Mistake” that has taken the home of House Music, Chicago, by storm! Plan to hear more about Mac Nass and his work with his production team SmashSound Syndicate and company SmashSound Group LLC very soon.
